This early 17th century castle with its 40-hectare park is located at the south-western gateway to the Périgord. Château de Bellevue is no more than an hour’s drive from such famous places as Bordeaux, Cognac, Saint Emilion, Brantôme and Bergerac.

Château de Bellevue was inhabited for three centuries by a family of French landed gentry. Almost in ruins, it fell victim to a fire in 1904 and was then rebuilt in 1907 by a wine and cognac merchant. He created a large wine cellar and extended the entire attic.

The château is inhabited by a Swiss couple since 2009. They purchased the property to set up a stud farm for thoroughbred Arabians and train them to the highest international level in “Equine Endurance”.

Due to numerous requests, the owners Urs and Gabrielle decided a few years ago to offer guest rooms and a suite with B&B and then also a guest house, an apartment and a châlet for day tourists and holidaymakers. Thanks to numerous renovations and extensions, as well as a heated outdoor pool, all the facilities for guests are at 4-star level.
